Black and white portrait of Nahid Naderi, abstract fine art photographer based in California.

About me

Based in Northern California, I am a visual artist holding an MFA in Graphic Design. With over twenty years of experience as an educator in fine art and visual communication, my work explores the delicate balance between form, texture, and emotion. My photographs are available as museum-quality fine art prints for private collections and curated spaces.

The Journey & Background

My path to abstract photography didn't begin behind with a camera. It began with pencil and paper. As a design student, I was rarely interested in sketching an object in full. Instead, I found myself captivated by its intricate fragments—drawing isolated details and collaging them back together into new, unexpected compositions.

That structural perspective deepened over two decades of teaching visual communication and design principles. Guiding students to explore abstract spaces pushed me to look past mere representation and truly listen to what light, form, and shadow were quietly saying.

Transitioning into fine art and conceptual photography was the natural blooming of something planted long ago. Today, every piece I create bridges design theory with contemplative photography, transforming ordinary elements into emotionally resonant visual language.
